The Estepona Orchidarium is divided into three levels, at different levels, with a total area of 1,000 square meters, and a space of 15,000 cubic meters. Within this space, different microclimates have been achieved, giving rise to a very varied and attractive botanical collection, made up of more than 3,000 species including araceae, ferns, tillandsias, bromeliads, and of course, orchids. Of the latter, there are about 1,500 species, represented by nearly 4,000 specimens. Some of these species are certainly huge, while others fit in a thimble and produce flowers just a few millimetres long but no less beautiful than their larger cousins! These species have been selected both for their beauty and their originality, in such a way that at any time of the year, you can enjoy the blooms of -at least- a hundred species (remember that each of them has its flowering season ). So don’t think you’ve seen everything on your first visit, or subsequent visits, because there is always something new!
The Orchidarium of Estepona is a pioneer in the way of displaying the botanical collection: it will seem like you are inside a jungle, and you will be able to see the orchids growing directly on the trunks of the trees, just as they do in their natural environment. And don’t miss our miniature orchid garden, unique in Europe, where you will be surprised by the blooms of species that barely exceed 10cm. You would never have thought that orchids like this existed!
